One person killed in crash

The driver of a tractor-trailer died Wednesday morning in Greenville County when it hit a storage shed that had come off the truck that was carrying it, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Berly Gibbs Zeigler, 74, of Orangeburg. The crash happened at about 8:30 am Wednesday on Highway 418 at Huff Creek Drive in Pelzer. Trooper said a truck was traveling east on Highway 418 and pulling a utility trailer that was holding a storage shed. The shed hit the guardrail, came off the truck and went into the westbound lane, according to troopers. A tractor-trailer driven by Zeigler traveling westbound hits the shed head-on, troopers said. Zeigler died at the scene, the coroner said. The driver of the truck carrying the shed was not injured.
